Air Source Heat Pumps are a great choice to provide a sustainable way to heat your home being up to 4X more efficient than a gas boiler
How Do Air Source Heat Pumps Work?
Air Source Heat Pumps works differently to a gas boiler.
It uses the warmth found in the air outside of your home and uses this warmth through a process of compressing a gas and using that energy to convert this through a heat exchanger to supply your home with hot water and heating.
In a nutshell it is producing warmth from the outside air.
This may sound like a paradox when it is particularly cold but they are still able to work in temperatures below -15 ͦ C.
Air Source Heat Pumps still use electricity from the mains to drive the pump but this is more cost effective than using it directly for heating with a traditional boiler.
A Well Insulated Home Is Required
When it’s installed in a well-insulated house, an air source heat pump is more environmentally friendly than a gas boiler.
What Are The Benefits of Having a Heat Pump Installed?
Air source heat pumps can reduce your carbon footprint by over 40%.
They require less servicing and are cheaper to run than a traditional fossil fuel or electric boiler.
With Gas boilers being phased out in the coming years an air source heat pump is an environmentally friendly way of future proofing your heating system.
